Welcome to Activity Matters (our app). We value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy will inform you about how we handle your personal data when you use our app.

Information We Collect

Our app collects the following types of data:

  • Mood and Activity Data: You can voluntarily add your daily mood and track various activities you are doing. This user-created data is stored locally on your device and is not shared with any third party.
  • Photos: You can add pictures within the app. These photos are stored locally on your device and are not shared with any third party.
  • Anonymized User UUID: We use an anonymized user UUID to facilitate in-app purchases for our Premium features. This is the only data that is shared with us and it is done in an anonymized manner.
  • Anonymized App Activity Data: We collect anonymized user app activity data to analyze how much the app and its features are used. This data is completely anonymized and contains no personal information, such as the specific mood you entered or the particular activity you performed. The data collected only indicates that a mood was entered or an activity was logged, without identifying individual users. The anonymized tracking data is stored on secure third-party servers located in the EU, where we are located. You can choose to stop the collection of this anonymized data at any time through the app settings.

How We Use Your Information

The data collected by our app is used in the following ways:

  • Mood and Activity Data: To help you track and analyze your daily moods and activities.
  • Photos: To allow you to attach pictures to your mood and activity entries.
  • Anonymized User UUID: To process and validate in-app purchases for our Premium features.
  • Anonymized App Activity Data: To understand user interaction with the app and its features, allowing us to improve our services. This data is stored securely in the EU and does not include any personal information. You have the option to disable the collection of this data through the app settings.

Data Storage and Security

All data (mood, activity, photos) is stored locally on your device. We do not have access to this data and it is never transmitted to our servers or any third party. The anonymized user UUID used for Premium purchases is handled securely and only used for the purpose of transaction validation. Additionally, anonymized app activity data is stored on our servers located in the EU to help us analyze app usage. This data does not include any personal information. If you prefer not to share this anonymized data, you can disable this feature in the app settings.

Third-Party Services

We do not share any of your personal data with third parties. The only exception is the anonymized user UUID, which is used for processing in-app purchases through our payment processor. This UUID is anonymized and does not contain any personal information. The anonymized app activity data is also not shared with any third parties and is used solely for improving our app's functionality.

User Privacy and Data Handling

We take your privacy very seriously. We will never share any personal information with any third party. This app is designed to be a personal journal, and the information you enter should remain private to you.

To support data integrity and availability, we offer backups of your database on Google and Apple servers. Additionally, you can download your database and store it yourself. Please note that once you download your database, you take full responsibility for who has access to it and how it is handled.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the data stored on your device.
  • Delete the data stored on your device.
  • Stop the collection of anonymized app activity data. You can manage this setting directly within the app.

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you can manage and delete your data directly within the app. Additionally, if you do not wish to share anonymized app activity data, you can disable this feature in the app settings at any time.

Account Creation and Management

Users have the option to create accounts within the app. These accounts are managed securely through Supabase. The accounts are used for the following purposes:

  • Purchases: To facilitate and validate subscription purchases.
  • Rate-Limiting: To ensure fair usage of the app's features and prevent abuse.

All user data, including mood and activity entries, photos, and other personal information, remains stored locally on your device. This data is securely backed up on Google and Apple servers to ensure data integrity and availability. We do not access or transmit this data to our servers or any third party.

Subscription Purchases

Users can purchase subscriptions to access premium features within the app. These purchases are handled securely through RevenueCat. RevenueCat processes subscription transactions and ensures compliance with applicable payment regulations. We do not store any payment information, as this is managed by RevenueCat and the respective app store (Google Play or Apple App Store).

Data Deletion

Users have full control over their accounts and data. You can delete your account and all associated data directly within the app. This includes:

  • Your account information managed by Supabase.
  • Any data we have on you, including anonymized app activity data and subscription details.

Once you delete your account, all data stored on our systems will be permanently removed. However, any data stored locally on your device will remain unless you delete it manually.

Additional Legal Information

We are committed to complying with all applicable data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). As such, you have the following rights:

  • Access: You can request access to any data we have about you.
  • Correction: You can request corrections to any inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Deletion: You can request the deletion of your account and all associated data.
  • Data Portability: You can request a copy of your data in a portable format.
